3R’s (Regulate,Reform, Rewrite)

Hello people at Hello Cool World Mr. Urban here. Its been a long time scince I have written to you. This past year the students in my grade 8 class here at Holy Name school in Essex Ontario, have been busy creating scrapbooks to demonstrate their feelings and ideas. They have completed the viewing of the film "The Corporation" and were quite impressed with the materials and personalities on the film.I am hoping to send to you about 10 copies for your own pleasure and use as you may see fit. Here in our region of Windsor and Essex county, we have been witnessing first hand the power and lack of responsibility of corporate entities and their destructive influnences on society. The majority of our auto plants are now closed or are in the process of closing, thus our 80 plus years of great manufacturing will most likely come to a end and many families are feeling the stress and pressure. My students have expressed many concerns about how to set new goals and standards on corporations to make them more responsible to all of us. The global and free trade impacts are now showing there true colors and showing no indication that things will change in favour of the majority of our country. Until politicians are ready and willing to fullfill the many promises they make to the general public, it seems, from the feelings of my students, that there isn’t much hope for good high paying jobs and decent standards of living any longer, this most certainly concerns them. Well hope to here from you soon. I will have my students on line very shortly to express their concerns and hope you may have some time to respond to them. Until next time "Same bat time same bat channel". God bless Mr. URBS.

My partner and I in grade 8 in Mr. Urban?s class. We attend Holy Name in Essex, Ont. Currently we have viewed the Corporation. We have been given an assignment to pick one of the 3R?s.

Rewrite: We need to throw corporations in the recycle bin! Throw them out and start from scratch and rewrite a letter less competitive corporate personhood. We know already know that we messed up really bad and actually trying to make the world better. In my opinion they just made it worse and made them selves look really bad in doing so. If we rewrite the law for corporations we would be able to completely reform this stereo type of corporations being bad. We could learn from our mistakes and since we already know the outcome of our poor choices, we could do the opposite of what we have been doing. For example privatizing water in Cochabomba was a bad idea if I do say so myself. A new corporate law could be that you cant privatize natural resources like ones that FALL FROM THE SKY! If our corporations weren?t so competitive and cared more about the customers and not about making money, I have a good feeling the world would be a better place.

Your’s sincerely,E.P and A.W

My partner and I are grade 8 students in Mr.Urbans class. We attend Holy Name school in Essex Ont. Currently we ahve viewed the movie The Corporation. We have been given an assignment to choose one of the 3R’s. We feel regulateing is the best possibility beaause there is more democratic governmental controls needed. We shold be making the corporations pay for there planetary misdeeds. We have a democratic system that allows us to vote who we want to represent us. we should have a bigger say in what the corporations do. In Cochabamba there water was privatized. Locally we have lost many manufacturing jobs due to the corporations. Why isn’t the government doing there jobs? Why arn’t global corporatinons being held accountable for there actions?

3 R’s Regulate, Reform, Rewrite

We are Grade 8’s in Mr.Urbans class. We attend school at Holy Name in ESSEX Ontario. Currently we have viewed the movie: The Corporation. We have been given an assignment to make a choice concerning The 3 R’s. Me and my friend have chosen Reform (or Restructure). We think that there is better reasons for corporations. We think that they still would be great even if they did not lie about stuff that they put in their product’s. Do you think this is fair what we are saying?
Yours Truely,
GC and JD
