Is The Corporation A Person? Free Speech for People Campaign Says No

The Free Speech for People campaign is calling for a constitutional amendment to ensure the First Amendment protects the rights of people and the press, and not corporations. Our First Blog! Corporate Personhood Goes Mainstream

We've just launched a blog feature on this site and with the recent US Supreme Court ruling ripping open the political system to yet more corporate money and influence, the timing couldn't be better. Though the ruling itself is distressing and the results potentially dire, it has also galvanized people to action and thrust corporate personhood into the spotlight. It's about time the corporation's status as a legal person, entitled to all the rights and freedoms of individuals (i.e. actual living, breathing people!), entered the public vernacular.
